Christos RUMBOS
PhD in Agricultural Sciences, Post-Doc Researcher at the University of Thessaly [UTH, Greece], working with different aspects of crop production and protection, i.e. insects, fungi and nematodes.

During the last 8 years he is working exclusively on the exploitation and mass production of insects as food and feed. He is the author of more than 55 peer-reviewed papers (h-index=15) and two book chapters. He has actively participated in the implementation of many research projects. Research topics: edible insects [insect nutrition and breeding]; stored-product entomology.

Vasileios ANTONIADIS
Vasileios ANTONIADIS
Associate Professor in Soil Science at the University of Thessaly [UTH, Greece].

He is an expert in soil biogeochemical behavior of trace elements, such as potentially toxic elements, their bioavailability and their fate in the soil-plant interphase. Also he has experience on aspects related to soil health and fertility, especially concerning trace nutrients. Research topics: Phytoremediation of contaminated soils with the use of novel soil improvers, among which insect frass.

Efi LEVIZOU
Efi LEVIZOU
Associate Professor in Plant Physiology at the University of Thessaly [UTH, Greece].

She has a long experience in studying the responses of plants to abiotic stress at the whole plant level, focusing on photosynthetic performance, assessment of the state and efficiency of the photosynthetic apparatus, antioxidant defense and biochemical parameters. Research topics: Alternative crop nutrition systems in the context of circular economy (insect frass as bio-fertilizer – aquaponics) and their effects on plant’s functional characteristics.
