Main skills and research topics: sustainable agronomic strategies for high-quality vegetable cultivation in open fields, greenhouses, and indoor environments; mineral and organic fertilization; abiotic stress management to improve vegetable quality; recovery of organic wastes and their reutilization as amendments, organic fertilizers, and growing media in soil, soilless cultivation and nursery production.

Since 2012, in collaboration with Italians and European research groups, he is involved in trials on protein insects as potential raw material in fish and poultry nutrition. He is also involved in trials on insect rearing evaluating the impact of rearing substrates and environmental conditions on live cycles and product quality for feed purposes. Main skills and research topics: animal nutrition, aquaculture, edible insects, feeds, meat, quality and safety of foods of animal origin.

Senior researcher at the Institute of Sciences of Food Production (ISPA) of the National Research Council (CNR).
